Gina D. Shaffer, Esq.

In 1983, Gina Shaffer received her Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a focus in Christian Education. After completion of her undergraduate education, Gina became a legal secretary at a firm in Manassas, Virginia. 

Continuing to focusing on the legal profession she enrolled in the Legal Assistant Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology after moving to Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She received her Associate of Arts degree in Legal Assistant in 1992. Looking for a greater challenge, Gina moved to Bel Air, Maryland in 1997 and began a master’s program at University of Baltimore seeking a M.A. in Legal, Ethical & Historical Studies. After attending University of Baltimore for one year, Gina was accepted into the UB Law School class of 2001. She completed her J.D. in 2001.

Gina sat for the Maryland bar exam in the summer of 2001. She also sat for the Virginia bar exam and received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia in February 2003.

After being admitted to the Maryland Bar, Gina worked for Miles & Stockbridge for two years. While working there she discovered her passion for the senior population and elder law. Seeking to work in the local community, Gina began her solo law practice in Bel Air in October 2003.  Gina’s hope was to avail herself to the aging population in an effort to assist them with preparation for retirement years and beyond.

Gina is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Solo Section Council, Elder Law Section Council, and is a member of the Estates & Trusts Section. She also serves as a Board Member of Harford Family House, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing transitional housing to homeless families with children, and she serves as a Board Member of the Community Foundation of Harford County.

Shaffer Law Office focuses on estate planning, estate administration and various aspects of elder law. Gina’s philosophy is that clients should experience a warm, friendly atmosphere and still receive quality legal services. A small firm allows more personal contact. Gina employs staff members who are of the same mindset... caring and compassionate. 

Gina spends most weekends in Lewes, DE where she he enjoys golfing, bike riding, and visiting the beach. She also enjoys taking ballroom dance lessons through Dancing With Friends!
