Elder Law

Elder Law includes assisting family members and seniors with a variety of financial and legal issues that affect the senior population. Specifically, Ms. Shaffer assists with the Medical Assistance application process, petitions various courts for guardianship of person and property, and assists with placements in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and continuing care communities. This area of practice also includes representation at administrative appeal hearings.

Estate Administration includes assisting the representatives of estates of deceased persons with the probate process including gathering all assets, preparing court documents, paying bills of the estate, and preparing the required accounting reports and tax returns.
